About Us

The Concrete Community have worked closely with the South Ward Neighbourhood Management Partnership and North Somerset Council to design the new skate plaza and dirt jumps for Jubilee Park. We have worked with contractors on site to build the dirt jumps and helped to design the equipment in the skate park. We have also successfully fundraised £11k to install railings to separate the BMX jumps from the skate area and have fundraised additional money to put on a Jam as an opening celebration for the new park.

We hold meetings every month for anyone interested in skateboarding or BMX riding.

Objectives

  1. The group aims to focus on and improve extreme sports facilities throughout Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas and to work towards providing the best and most suitable facilities for people of all ages to progress, and to improve in the extreme sports of skateboarding and BMX riding.
  2. The group aims to promote and encourage the sports by involving public participation and visual enjoyment from these sports.
  3. The group aims to work in partnership with North Somerset Council’s Park Rangers, the Community Wardens, the Friends of Jubilee Park, Avon and Somerset police, and other youth groups. They are happy to support the maintenance of the facilities and would support signage to clearly state rules of use of facilities.
  4. Everyone interested in being actively involved with these extreme sports would be welcome from all sections of the community.
