All Hands On Deck!

The dirt jumps at Jubilee Park are now at the stage where we need people down there to help compress, compact, finalise and finish them off. Will has done a great job so far but the digger is too big to compress the jumps, we need man (and woman) power! So if you’ve got a few hours to spare over the next few days get down there and help out! We understand some of you guys work and have school to attend but even an hour or two after school is better than nothing, so please please please can we let everyone know about this to get these things finished and ridable, the sooner you get down there to help out the sooner you’ll be able to shred them all summer long! Just think, if you finish them off this week they’ll be ready to rock by the summer holidays! Blazing sunshine, fresh compressed dirt, and your bikes, what more could you want?!

Dirt Jump Rebuild Date

We’ve had an update from Phil and Will (The jump builders). They’re gonna be down on the 22nd June for 5 days with a digger, building the new jumps!

This is great news for us, as we had no idea when they would be arriving. If you’re interested in helping out, or know people that are, then please come to the meeting Sunday 6th June to find out more details, or feel free to send us an email via the contact page.

BMX CANCELLED - SKATE STILL ON!!

Hey everyone.

It pains me to write this but due to unforeseen circumstances we’re having to cancel the BMX element of the jam.

We’ve had problems with the size and placement of the dirt jumps so over the next 24 hours they will be completely flattened, and then going to be properly redesigned and rebuilt over the coming months, ready for a jam in mid to late summer. Probably around Aug/Sept.

I know this really sucks, but there is nothing we can do. All the BMX riders are welcome to still come along and hang out, but sadly there won’t be much in the way of riding.

Sorry guys,

Jon

Weston Plaza Jam

Weston Plaza Poster

We have a Skate + BMX jam planned for Saturday 6th June! So far the weather forecast is looking pretty good!

It starts at 11am and will be ending about 6pm. Registration is only £2 but all skaters/riders must register even if you’re not competing. We’re gonna be holding best trick comps with prizes on various obstacles around the plaza and on the dirt jumps throughout the day.

There will be a high ollie comp at 2pm and straight after a highest hop comp.

The jam is being supported by Fifty Fifty, Ape Skates and Crucial BMX. The Enuff team will be down and are also going to be providing prizes.

Consent Form

Please note, if you are aged 16 or under you must get your parent/guardian to fill in a consent form. These can be downloaded in .doc or .pdf format. Bring these along on the day and it will speed up your registration. However we will also have them available on the day. If you are over 16 then you will just have to sign up on the day.

Directions

If you wanna know where you’re heading check out the spot guide, it’s the lowest little red thingy, titled “Weston Plaza and Dirt Jumps”. If you’re coming via train then the quickest way is outta the station, hit a right, go over the flyover, and then go right at the big roundabout all the way down Drove/Devonshire Road. Turn left at the very end (by Broadoak School/Weston Cricket Club) and then take the next left onto Windwhistle Lane. The park is on your right! The jam will be signposted so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. For those fortunate enough to have cars the postcode is BS23 4QA and you should be okay to park along Windwhistle Lane and Columbo Crescent.

Hope to see you there!

Park Progress

Yo, here are some shots of the park so far. The jumps should be finished in the next 7 days ready for the jam on Saturday, but if anyone is free between now and then feel free to head down to the park with a shovel and get your dig on!
